Cam Skattebo makes bold Giants prediction for 2026 after another lost season
Cam Skattebo believes the 2-9 Giants have the potential to turn things around swiftly in 2026. During a recent interview with YouTuber N3on, the breakout rookie running back boldly predicted Big Blue will reach the postseason for the first time since the 2022 season. “Like, this year’s probably not going so well, but next year is gonna be pretty insane,” Skattebo said. “. I’m gonna say we’re gonna go 12-5 regular season and then it’s playoffs obviously.” The Giants, who have dropped five straight, have not won double-digit games since 2016. With sweeping changes on the horizon following the midseason firing of Brian Daboll, a fanbase that has grown accustomed to losing has hope for the future in Skattebo, 23, and rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart, who have ignited a spark in a one-time listless offense. The quarterback-running back duo dazzled in primetime in Week 6 when they took down the reigning champion Eagles, 34-17. Skattebo, who has taken the league by storm with his bulldozing playing style, tallied seven touchdowns across eight games before a season-ending leg injury derailed a promising campaign in late October. As for Dart, the Giants’ 25th overall pick in April’s NFL draft, he has continued to impress since taking over for Russell Wilson as the starter in Week 4. Through nine games, Dart has thrown 10 touchdowns against three interceptions. He’s also added seven scores on the ground. CHECK OUT THE LATEST NFL STANDINGS AND GIANTS STATS Currently in concussion protocol, it remains to be seen if Dart will return to action Sunday against the Lions or if backup quarterback Jameis Winston will start. Dart, 22, was on the field Wednesday at the indoor practice facility in an encouraging sign. “If he’s healthy and cleared to go [by medical staff], then I’d like Jaxson Dart to play,’’ interim head coach Mike Kafka said. “It’s only if he’s healthy and ready to go, and that’s based on what the doctor would say.” Kickoff is set for 1 p. m. Sunday.
