Bulls’ Josh Giddey drops mic with GOAT take after historic 24-point comeback
**Josh Giddey’s Historic Start Continues with Triple-Double in Bulls’ Comeback Win Over 76ers**
Chicago Bulls guard Josh Giddey extended his unprecedented start to the 2025-26 NBA season with a stellar performance on Tuesday night. Giddey recorded a 29-point, 15-rebound, and 12-assist triple-double, fueling a remarkable 24-point comeback in the Bulls’ 113-111 victory against the Philadelphia 76ers.
Trailing the 76ers by one point late in the game, Bulls center Nikola Vucevic nailed a crucial three-pointer with 3.2 seconds remaining to seal the win. Giddey’s second consecutive triple-double marks the first time a Chicago Bulls player has achieved back-to-back triple-doubles since Michael Jordan in 1989.
Reflecting on the incredible second-half comeback, Giddey told The Athletic’s Joel Lorenzi, “Tonight was one of the best wins that I’ve ever been a part of. Just in terms of how bad we were down. Early in the third, we were down 20-25 points. To gut that one out and dig ourselves out of the hole that we did, was unbelievable.”
He continued, “As I’ve said, it was 10-11 guys contributing, and I thought both units, first and second, did an unbelievable job—probably the last 18 minutes of the game—to really bring it back.”
Giddey admitted the Bulls played the right way in the second half but waited too long to make the necessary effort to overcome a strong road opponent. “We rebounded. We were physical. We did the things we needed to do. To be the team that we want to be, that has to be a 48-minute thing,” he explained. “We can’t wait until we’re down 20 to start doing those things. Incredible fight back, and that’s a very good win in front of a big crowd against a team that’s been as good as any team in the league.”
Alongside Giddey’s heroics, Vucevic posted a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Isaac Okoro contributed 16 points, five assists, and two steals, while Jalen Smith led the bench with 14 points and four rebounds during the comeback.
The Bulls improved to 6-1 on the season, handing the 76ers their second loss of the regular season and securing the best record in the Eastern Conference seven games into the campaign.
