BREAKING: Netflix drops massive WWE announcement
The wrestling world recently lost one of its biggest icons when WWE Hall of Famer Hulk Hogan passed away. For decades, Hogan stood as the face of professional wrestling, carrying WWE through its prime years and later reshaping the industry with some incredible storylines.
Following his passing, Netflix announced that a docuseries chronicling the legend’s life, rise to global fame, and the closing chapter of his legendary career is set to be released. Netflix’s Vice President of Sports, Gabe Spitzer, recently spoke with Varsity about the highly anticipated series.
Spitzer revealed that Hogan was filmed extensively during his final days, providing the production team with a rare opportunity to capture genuine moments rather than relying solely on archival footage. “The main goal of the company is to show the real man behind the icon,” he explained.
The documentary will feature more than 20 hours of unseen footage taken around the time of Hogan’s passing, which promises to deliver one of the most emotional tributes to the wrestling legend. “Hulk Hogan, we had been filming with Hogan for 20 hours around the time of when he passed. We think that can be a good one,” Spitzer stated. [H/T Fightful]
In other news, Jake Paul recently paid tribute to the WWE Hall of Famer during his high-profile bout against Anthony Joshua at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Although Paul was ultimately defeated, he made headlines for honoring Hogan by wearing an outfit inspired by the iconic yellow and red colors of the Hulkster. This heartfelt gesture touched fans around the world.
As fans eagerly await Netflix’s docuseries, only time will tell how the platform chooses to celebrate and honor the enduring legacy of Hulk Hogan.
