
Ahmad Henderson scores 23 to help UIC knock off Detroit Mercy 91-71 in opener
CHICAGO (AP) — Ahmad Henderson II scored 23 points to lead the UIC Flames to a 91-71 victory over Detroit Mercy in their season opener on Monday night.
Henderson was efficient from the field, making 7 of 12 shots, including 5 of 8 from beyond the arc. He also went a perfect 4 for 4 from the foul line. Rashund Washington Jr. contributed 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists, while Elijah Crawford added 13 points for UIC.
For Detroit Mercy, Ayden Carter led the Titans with 18 points. Keshawn Fisher chipped in 12 points, and Orlando Lovejoy scored 11.
