**Satna (Madhya Pradesh): Worker Dies After Exposure to Toxic Gas While Cleaning Sewer; Two Others in Critical Condition**
A tragic incident unfolded in Satna district, Madhya Pradesh, where a worker died after being exposed to toxic gas while cleaning a sewer. Two other workers are currently in critical condition. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon in the Kripalpur area near Triveni Palace.
Locals sprang into action immediately upon noticing the situation. They brought an oxygen cylinder and used ropes to pull the workers out of the sewer. All three victims were rushed to the hospital, where doctors declared one worker dead on arrival. The other two are still undergoing treatment.
**Workers Lacked Safety Equipment**
Eyewitnesses claim that the workers were sent into the sewer without any safety equipment. According to reports, a private firm had hired these workers and is now facing accusations of deploying them without proper protective gear. This tragedy marks the second such incident within just four days.
**Recent Similar Incident on September 22**
On September 22, two workers fell unconscious while cleaning a sewer near Kristukula School. They were reportedly working under the instructions of a private company. The repetitive nature of these incidents has drawn severe criticism towards the authorities for negligence and for allowing manual cleaning of sewers despite the known risks involved.
Further details on the current case are awaited.
