
Japan and Saudi Arabia Sign Entertainment Partnership Deal
SBI, a leading internet-based financial institution, is set to collaborate with a Middle Eastern partner to support the development of Saudi Arabia’s gaming sector. This partnership marks a significant step towards boosting the region’s entertainment industry.
In addition, renowned game developer PlatinumGames plans to establish a new gaming company in collaboration with a local firm. This initiative is part of a broader wave of agreements, with approximately one-third of the 19 Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) signed focusing on entertainment and content.
For Japan, which aims to transform its content sector into a major export industry, these agreements are expected to open up significant new business opportunities.
PlatinumGames is a Japanese video game developer known for its distinctive action titles and commitment to creative independence. Founded in 2006 through the merger of two smaller studios, the company is headquartered in Osaka.
The studio has built a strong reputation by producing stylish, fast-paced action games characterized by unique mechanics and compelling artistic direction. Some of PlatinumGames’ most notable works include **Bayonetta**, **NieR: Automata** (developed in collaboration with Square Enix), **Astral Chain**, and **Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance**.
These titles have earned critical acclaim for their innovative combat systems, fluid gameplay, and distinctive visual style—qualities that have helped cement PlatinumGames’ global recognition in the video game industry.
