Scott scores 18, UAPB downs Texas Southern 74-66

HOUSTON (AP) — Jaquan Scott’s 18 points helped Arkansas-Pine Bluff secure a 74-66 victory over Texas Southern on Saturday.

Scott shot 7 for 13 from the field, including 1 for 3 from three-point range, and made 3 of 5 free throws for the Golden Lions, who improved to 6-10 overall and 3-0 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

Quion Williams contributed 16 points on 6-for-11 shooting, including an impressive 4-for-5 performance from beyond the arc, while also grabbing 17 rebounds. Ramel Lloyd Jr. added 14 points, shooting 6 of 10 from the field and hitting 2 of 4 from three-point range.

For Texas Southern, which fell to 2-12 overall and 0-3 in conference play, Troy Hupstead led the team with 16 points, 14 rebounds, two steals, and two blocks. Alex Anderson also scored 16 points and recorded two steals, while Zaire Hayes chipped in 11 points.
