
Suspect fatally shot in Marshall County officer-involved shooting
A person was fatally shot overnight during a Marshall County law enforcement operation. According to a social media post by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, multiple agencies were involved in an operation in the Guntersville area “when officers and deputies became involved in an officer-involved shooting.” Details of the time and place were not provided, but the post was made in the early morning hours of Sunday, Nov. 23. According to the post, attributed to Sheriff Phil Sims and Guntersville Police Chief Ryan Darnell, the agencies taking part were the Guntersville PD, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Marshall County Drug Task Force. One unidentified suspect died in the incident. No officers were injured. According to the post, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is investigating.
