Loose horse named after racing legend gives N.J. police a run for their money. See video.
While cops have plenty of experience chasing down bad guys, the suspect that police officers in Gloucester County encountered Friday morning had a bit more horsepower. Officers in Monroe Township responded to the Hunter Woods neighborhood shortly before 8 a. m. for a report of a horse on the loose. They arrived and identified their four-legged suspect as Seabiscuit, according to a video the Monroe Township Police Department posted on Facebook. The horse, who could be seen grazing on a well-manicured front lawn, galloped off when confronted. Since the horse was named after the championship thoroughbred that inspired a book and 2003 movie, the officers likely knew they had their hands full. Officer Nathan O’Lano valiantly chased Seabiscuit on foot but couldn’t catch him at first. Thanks to a little teamwork and perseverance, though, officers were eventually able to safely secure Seabiscuit and return the horse to its owner, police said.
