**Canucks Rally to Defeat Lightning 6-2 with Five-Goal Third Period**
TAMPA — Kiefer Sherwood, Linus Karlsson, and Drew O’Connor each scored in a rapid 1:40 span during Vancouver’s explosive five-goal third period, helping the Canucks overcome an early deficit to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-2 on Sunday night.
Sherwood tied the game at 2-2 on a power play at 4:11 of the third, with his shot deflecting in off Lightning defender J.J. Moser’s skate. Sherwood has now scored 12 goals this season. Just 43 seconds later, Karlsson gave Vancouver the lead with a slick backhander, and O’Connor added his fifth goal of the season at 5:51 on a tip-in.
The scoring continued as Mackenzie MacEachern notched his first goal of the season with 6:08 remaining, and Marcus Pettersson sealed the victory with his first goal of the season into an empty net at 3:03 to go.
Goalie Kevin Lankinen made 28 saves to secure the win, while Quinn Hughes recorded four assists, returning strong after missing a game due to an upper-body injury. The Canucks snapped a three-game losing streak with the victory.
Earlier in the game, Jake DeBrusk sparked the comeback with a power-play goal at 9:26 of the second period, beating Jonas Johansson from close range off a rebound for his seventh goal of the season.
Tampa Bay got off to a quick start, building a 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Nikita Kucherov and Jake Guentzel, both marking their eighth goals of the season. Kucherov scored on a one-timer from the right circle with 35 seconds left in the first period, and Guentzel made it 2-0 on a tip-in at 4:35 of the second.
The Lightning came into the game riding high after a 3-1 victory over Florida on Saturday.
