Mumbai Crime News: Charkop Police Arrest 3 Persons For Killing 70-Year-Old Businessman
Mumbai: The Charkop police on Monday arrested three individuals in connection with the murder of a 70-year-old businessman from Kandivali, Mohammad Yunus Saiyyad, which took place on Sunday.
Among the accused is the deceased’s younger son, Hamid Ayu Saiyyad, 41, who is believed to have orchestrated the killing over investment-related disputes. Sources revealed that the deceased was unwilling to transfer his property to Hamid, which allegedly prompted the younger son to plot the murder.
Hamid, along with his business partner Shanu Chaudhary, 40, reportedly hired two hitmen to carry out the attack. One of the assailants was identified as Mohammad Islam, 27, who was apprehended in Navi Mumbai. The police stated that Hamid and Shanu had paid Rs 6.5 lakh to Islam and his accomplice for the crime.
The dispute stemmed from investments made by Hamid and Shanu in a glass factory jointly owned with the deceased. When disagreements arose over profit sharing, they demanded their investments be returned. However, the deceased refused to comply. It is noted that Chaudhary alone had invested nearly Rs 1 crore.
Mohammad Yunus Saiyyad operated a glass staffing firm named ‘Sanvarman Durga Dutt’ located at Kandivali Industrial Estate. The factory had been closed for the past month, and the deceased had been in negotiations to rent out the premises.
On Sunday, Saiyyad arrived at the factory as usual, but later his body was found around noon with multiple stab wounds.
