Wake Forest rides Carlos Hernandez’s big plays, defense past North Carolina 28-12

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (AP) – Wake Forest’s Carlos Hernandez was a standout performer in Saturday’s game, scoring two touchdowns to lead the Demon Deacons to a 28-12 victory over North Carolina.

Hernandez’s touchdowns included a remarkable score off a teammate’s fumble recovery, a play that caught North Carolina completely off guard. In addition to his two touchdowns, Hernandez amassed an impressive 100 receiving yards on six catches.

Quarterback Robby Ashford also contributed to the win by throwing for a touchdown, helping Wake Forest maintain strong offensive momentum throughout the game.

Defensively, the Demon Deacons held firm, not allowing a touchdown and securing a solid 28-12 victory over their rivals.
