‘Southern Charm’ Star Patricia Altschul Fires Back At “Irrelevant” Todd Chrisley: “We Just Don’t Need Any More Felons In Charleston”
Patricia Altschul and Todd Chrisley‘s feud is only just beginning. After Todd and his wife, Julie Chrisley, were pardoned by President Donald Trump and released from federal prison earlier this year, they revealed plans to move to Charleston, South Carolina, and start a new reality show that follows them renovating and opening a hotel.
In response to the news, Altschul posted, “There goes the neighborhood,” on her Instagram Story. This comment prompted Todd to clap back in a fiery rant on his *Chrisley Confessions 2.0* podcast.
“He’s very irrelevant. I said four words—’there goes the neighborhood’—and he went on and did a whole program about me,” Altschul told *Decider* in a recent Zoom interview. She described her comment as “just a comment in passing.” The Southern Charm star, however, added, “We just don’t need any more felons in Charleston.”
Todd and Julie, stars of *Chrisley Knows Best*, were indicted in 2019 on charges including wire fraud, conspiracy to commit bank fraud, and conspiracy to defraud the United States. Despite maintaining their innocence, they were found guilty and sentenced to a combined 19 years in federal prison.
After reporting to their respective sentences in 2023, their daughter Savannah Chrisley began publicly advocating for their release. Her efforts ultimately resulted in a pardon from President Trump in May of this year.
Following Altschul’s initial comment about their potential move to Charleston, Todd took to his podcast to shade the Southern Charm matriarch.
“I’ve never had an issue [with her]. I’ve always held her in high regard. I always thought she was a classy lady,” he said, noting, “This is a woman that’s in her 80s. She could be my mother.”
According to Todd, he told his fans not to retaliate against Altschul at the time. “I said, ‘Please don’t. Please don’t go back on this old lady. Do not do that,’” he explained. “Because at the end of the day, she’s old. She’s already, according to the tabloids, transferred her assets over to her son. I guess she’s getting ready for death.”
The *Chrisleys: Back to Reality* star didn’t stop there. “She doesn’t need to worry about how I make my money. At this age, I could end up marrying someone like Patricia and take her money. That’s kinda what she did. Kinda how she made her money,” he said.
“She’s just playing a role that’s been in the book of securing wealth since the beginning of time. A younger woman marries an older man, and he dies, she gets the money. Maybe I’ll become Patricia’s walker. Maybe her son has to worry about me inheriting her money.”
Todd fought fire with fire—and now, Altschul has had the last word.
