Columbia Capital Allocation Portfolios Q3 2025 Commentary

**Summary**
The third quarter of 2025 saw equities reach new highs, accompanied by broadened market leadership. Fixed-income market returns were modest but positive across the quality spectrum. This performance came as concerns around a weakening labor market prompted the U.S. Federal Reserve to resume cutting interest rates after a nine-month pause.
Absolute returns in all five portfolios of the Columbia Capital Allocation Series were positive. On a relative basis, all five portfolios outperformed their new respective blended benchmarks. This outperformance was primarily attributable to asset allocation decisions, especially within equities.
At the end of Q3, we believed investors were focused on how far the U.S. equity market could continue climbing — largely bolstered by artificial intelligence companies — and the degree to which the Fed might keep cutting interest rates. We intend to maintain the portfolios’ moderate overweight to equities and their underweight to fixed income, which we currently view as less compelling.

**Market Overview**
The third quarter saw equities reach new highs along with broadened market leadership. The S&P 500 Index and Russell 3000 Index, both key measures of U.S. equities, rose 8.12% and 8.18%, respectively.
Within the U.S. equity market, small-cap stocks led the way, demonstrating strength alongside larger peers.
