Maddening Pain quest guide – Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

As you spend a lot of time around the infirmary during the **Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Mysteria Ecclesia DLC**, you are bound to run into Maddie. The poor girl is trying to get some help from the learned monks, but few of them have any time for her. As such, it’s up to you to assist her.

## Maddening Pain Quest Guide – Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

One important thing to note about this quest is that you **must complete it before finishing the Anamnesis DLC quest**. If you wait until after that, you will no longer be able to complete this side quest.

### Starting the Quest

After speaking to Maddie outside the infirmary, you will learn that she is suffering from terrible stomach pain. Few people seem willing to take her seriously, and she begs you for help.

The first step is to enter the infirmary and talk to **Novice Benedict**. Run through his dialogue options, then ask him to help Maddie. At first, he will refuse, but eventually, he will offer a simple potion that he believes might help her.

**Important:** Do **not** give Maddie this potion, as it is actually harmful and will cause you to fail the quest.

### Finding the Correct Help

Instead, head to the back left of the infirmary where you will find **Albich**. Talk to him and ask for help. After your conversation, he will provide a recipe for an anti-inflammatory potion that can ease Maddie’s pain.

### Ingredients Needed

– Water (1)
– Nettle (2)
– Valerian (1)
– Ginger (1)

You can find **Nettle** and **Valerian** just outside the infirmary in the courtyard. The **Ginger** is located in a cabinet within the alchemy room at the rear of the infirmary.

### Crafting the Potion

To make the anti-inflammatory potion, follow these steps at the alchemy bench:

1. Open the alchemy book and prepare your ingredients by holding **E**.
2. Add water to the cauldron from the jars.
3. Add nettle to the mortar and grind it with the pestle.
4. Pour the ground nettle into the cauldron.
5. Lower the cauldron for one turn of the timer, then raise it.
6. Add two handfuls of valerian directly into the cauldron.
7. Lower the cauldron for two turns of the timer.
8. Add the ginger to the mortar, grind it, and add it to the cauldron.
9. Take a phial from the left side of the bench and interact with the cauldron to fill it with the potion.

### Completing the Quest

After crafting the potion, go to the building at the northern edge of the monastery and give the potion to Maddie.

While you won’t receive any reward for completing this quest, it’s a rewarding experience to help someone in genuine need.
