A fan named Abena asked how she manages to look so put-together so quickly. “Always, less is more. Fifteen minutes is plenty of time,” Steinfeld responded. “If it is a weeknight and we are running out, I am not trying anything new. One tip for speed that sounds counterintuitive but is really helpful: I set out all my makeup before I start, so I feel organized and I’m not rifling through my bag.”

Steinfeld explained her routine in detail:
– She starts with moisturizer that contains SPF.
– Next, she uses “underpainting” — contouring first and blending later — with Mary’s Underpainting Palette.
– A light layer of Luminous Silk foundation follows.
– For her eyes, she adds a soft eyeshadow wash and buffs her lashline, a trick she learned from makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes.
– Her brows are brushed up before applying her favorite mascara.

– For lips, Hailee switches between three liners: Charlotte Tilbury Iconic Nude, Makeup Forever Wherever Walnut, or MAC Whirl, finishing each look with Mary’s Lip Ciggy balm.
