A beautiful white Iberian lynx is spotted for the first time in history, after long being thought extinct, bewitching the online world: ‘That’s an old, OLD ancient guardian. Look at the eyes. You can tell.. chills’
There are so many beautiful, rare wild cats out there that are just criminally underappreciated. Every time we come across them online, or a story about one of them pops up, we feel it’s our duty to give them the love and appreciation they deserve.
Take the Pallas’ cat, for example — those perpetually grumpy, round, fluffy cats that we wish we could have at home but simply can’t. Then there’s the rusty-spotted cat, the smallest wild cat in the world. Don’t be fooled by their size; they are incredibly skilled hunters.
Given our general obsession with cats and our work writing about them all the time, we thought we had seen it all. But no. Just like the rest of the internet, over the Halloween weekend, we were blessed with a new wild cat appearing on our timelines.
Well, technically, this species isn’t new. The white Iberian lynx has been known to science for some time — it’s just that no one had ever spotted one on camera before. Until now.
