Facebook (META) Q3 2025 earnings results beat revenue expectations, tax charge creates EPS miss
Facebook, now known as Meta, recently released its earnings results for Q3 2025, providing insight into the health of the social media, VR/AR, and AI-focused company.
For the quarter, Meta reported revenue of $51.24 billion, surpassing Wall Street’s expectations of $49.34 billion. This marks a strong performance in terms of revenue, reflecting the company’s continued growth across its business segments.
However, the earnings-per-share (EPS) results painted a different picture. Meta posted an EPS of $1.05 per share, which fell short of the $6.61 per share anticipated by Wall Street and the $7.21 per share projected in the Earnings Whisper estimates.
The lower EPS was primarily due to a significant one-time tax charge amounting to $15.93 billion. Meta explained that without this tax charge, the EPS would have been $7.21 per share, aligning with analyst expectations.
Meta’s Q3 2025 earnings report highlights both strong revenue growth and the impact of unique financial events on its profitability for the quarter. Investors will likely keep a close eye on how the company navigates these challenges moving forward.
