ARC Raiders lead seems unconcerned that it’s launching between Battlefield & COD
This week marks a pivotal moment for Embark Studios as their new IP, *ARC Raiders*, is set to launch. This third-person extraction shooter arrives tomorrow, positioned precariously between the highly anticipated releases of *Call of Duty: Black Ops 7* and *Battlefield 6*.
Söderlund shared his thoughts on the timing in an interview with *The Game Business* this week, as reported by Eurogamer. He expressed that he doesn’t believe there is a clearly good or bad time for *ARC Raiders* to launch. Despite any criticism regarding the timing, Söderlund emphasized that the most important thing is that the game simply comes out.
There are valid arguments on both sides of the debate. As a former CEO of DICE, Söderlund is likely familiar with a similar situation when *Titanfall 2* launched between *Battlefield One* and *Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare*. Many agree that this impacted the amount of attention the otherwise stellar FPS received during its lifetime.
However, there is also an argument to be made that *ARC Raiders* differs quite a bit from *Call of Duty* and *Battlefield*. Because of these differences, it might not have to compete as directly with them as *Titanfall* did back then.
