Jason Kelce labels Juju Smith-Schuster as “instigator” in honest review of Chiefs star WR
Juju Smith-Schuster has already surpassed his numbers from last season in just eight games this year. The wide receiver has racked up 289 yards and played a key role in helping the Kansas City Chiefs bounce back from a 0-2 start.
Former Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce shared his thoughts about Smith-Schuster on Wednesday:
“He’s a very good possession receiver. He blocks his a*s off. And on top of that, he gets in other people like, he’s an instigator, and it’s good to have one of those guys out there. He’s an agitator. He’s gonna get like, sh*t riled up and get people out of playing.”
Smith-Schuster began the season with five receptions for 55 yards but followed that up with a disappointing performance, recording only one reception for five yards. He bounced back in Week 3 with four receptions for 55 yards in the Chiefs’ first win of the season against the New York Giants.
In the following game, the wide receiver caught four passes for 36 yards and one touchdown as Kansas City improved to 2-2 with a win over the Baltimore Ravens. However, Smith-Schuster managed only two receptions for 17 yards in the team’s third loss of the season.
He played well again against the Detroit Lions, grabbing three passes for 57 yards in a 30-17 victory. As the Chiefs got their trio of Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Hollywood Brown back on the field against the Las Vegas Raiders, Smith-Schuster’s role has been somewhat reduced. He has recorded only five receptions for 64 yards in the last two games.
Notably, Smith-Schuster caught 100% of the passes thrown his way in five of Kansas City’s eight games this season.
### JuJu Smith-Schuster on Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, and Xavier Worthy Suited Up Together
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster shared his excitement about the potential of Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, and Hollywood Brown lining up together. With Patrick Mahomes leading the offense, Smith-Schuster emphasized how dangerous the trio could be.
“I’m so excited, man! I’m so excited,” Smith-Schuster told reporters on October 12. “To see those three guys on the offense will be very dangerous and very scary for a lot of defenses.”
The Chiefs have won both games since Rice returned. They currently hold a 5-3 record this season and will be on the road to face the Buffalo Bills this Sunday.
