‘Only Murders in the Building’ Renewed for Season 6 — and Moves to London
“Only Murders in the Building” has been renewed for its sixth season at Hulu, which will be both set and shot in London. This exciting announcement arrives on the same day as the release of the Season 5 finale.
The series centers on Charles-Haden Savage (Steve Martin), Oliver Putnam (Martin Short), and Mabel Mora (Selena Gomez). These three residents of an Upper West Side building called the Arconia run a podcast together as they investigate mysterious deaths occurring within their home.
The official logline for Season 5 reads: “After their beloved doorman, Lester (Teddy Coluca), dies under suspicious circumstances, Charles, Oliver, and Mabel refuse to believe it was an accident. Their investigation plunges them into the shadowy corners of New York and beyond, where the trio uncovers a dangerous web of secrets connecting powerful billionaires, old-school mobsters, and the mysterious residents of the Arconia. The trio discovers a deeper divide between the storied city they thought they knew and the new New York evolving around them—one where the old mob fights to hold on as newer, even more dangerous players emerge.”
In addition to Martin, Short, Gomez, and Coluca, Season 5 featured an impressive cast including Meryl Streep, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Richard Kind, Nathan Lane, Bobby Cannavale, Renée Zellweger, Logan Lerman, Christoph Waltz, Téa Leoni, Keegan-Michael Key, Beanie Feldstein, Dianne Wiest, Jermaine Fowler, and Michael Cyril Creighton.
“Only Murders in the Building” was co-created by Steve Martin and John Hoffman. Both also serve as executive producers alongside Martin Short, Selena Gomez, Dan Fogelman, Jess Rosenthal, Ben Smith, and JJ Philbin. Fans can look forward to the new season’s shift to London, promising fresh mysteries and adventures for the beloved trio.
