Broncos lead Cowboys 27-10 at halftime
The Dallas Cowboys continue to struggle against the Denver Broncos, having not beaten them in seven consecutive games. Their last victory over Denver was a 31-21 win back in September 1995. To end this losing streak, the Cowboys will need a strong second-half comeback.
At halftime, the Broncos lead the Cowboys 27-10. Rookie running back RJ Harvey has been impressive, rushing for two touchdowns, while Bo Nix has thrown two touchdown passes. The Cowboys, who rank first in total offense but 32nd in total defense, were outgained 264 to 152 in the first half.
Dallas managed to score on only two of six possessions, with three punts—including two three-and-outs—facing Denver’s tough third-ranked defense. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw an interception on the team’s final possession of the half. The Cowboys had Brandon Aubrey prepared to attempt a 70-yard field goal with 22 seconds remaining, but Jahdae Barron intercepted a pass from Prescott intended for Jake Ferguson. This marked Prescott’s first interception since Week 3 against Chicago.
The Broncos opened the scoring with a 25-yard touchdown pass from Nix to Troy Franklin in the first quarter. Rookie Pat Bryant added a 24-yard touchdown catch with just 39 seconds left in the first half. Additionally, RJ Harvey contributed with touchdown runs of 40 and 1 yard.
So far, Nix is completing 13 of 17 passes for 169 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Troy Franklin leads the receiving corps with five catches for 82 yards, followed by Bryant with two catches for 40 yards. Courtland Sutton has recorded one catch for 11 yards.
On the Cowboys’ side, Prescott is 9-of-17 for 97 yards, with one interception. Javonte Williams, playing against his former team, has rushed for 25 yards and one touchdown on eight carries. Wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens have combined for six catches totaling 66 yards.
As the second half approaches, all eyes will be on Dallas to see if they can mount a comeback and finally break their losing streak against the Broncos.
