**Apple Ramps Up iPhone 17 Production Amid High Demand**

Apple has announced an increase in the production of its latest iPhone 17 model following an overwhelmingly positive response during the pre-order phase. The tech giant has instructed its supplier Luxshare Precision to boost output by approximately 40%, while another partner has been asked to increase production by around 30%, according to The Information.
This move signals a clear consumer preference for the regular iPhone 17 over the more expensive Pro variants.
**Feature Upgrades Narrowing the Gap**
The standard iPhone 17 now includes screen and camera enhancements that were previously exclusive to the Pro models. This upgrade significantly reduces the differences between Apple’s entry-level device and its higher-priced counterparts.
Such a shift highlights an important trend: even a company known for pushing high-margin products like Apple is responding to more price-sensitive demand from consumers.
**Adjusting Production Based on Market Demand**
Apple’s decision to ramp up iPhone 17 production is part of its annual strategy to calibrate manufacturing orders in line with real-world demand. Earlier this year, The Information reported that Apple expected the standard iPhone 17 to comprise 25% of total production, with the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max making up 65%, and the iPhone Air accounting for the remaining 10%.
**Reviving Growth Amid Slower Upgrades**
With the introduction of the new iPhone lineup, including a thinner “iPhone Air,” Apple aims to reinvigorate growth after experiencing years of sluggish sales. The company has faced challenges as consumers upgrade their devices less frequently and new models offer only incremental improvements.
However, analysts warn that while boosting sales of lower-priced models could help Apple retain market share, it may also impact the company’s profit margins.
Apple’s strategy reflects its effort to balance consumer demand and profitability in an increasingly competitive smartphone market.
