Fans flaming Grizzlies after Heat’s near 40-point halftime lead
The Memphis Grizzlies and Miami Heat find themselves at a crossroads as they strive to distinguish themselves in their respective conferences. Both teams pride themselves on grit and determination, but on this night, they were worlds apart.
Miami delivered a stunning 146-114 blowout victory over Memphis on the road at FedExForum. The game was essentially decided by halftime, with the Grizzlies trailing 86-47. Grizzlies fans were left shocked and dismayed as their team was thoroughly outclassed—especially on their home court and against a Heat squad missing their top scorer, Tyler Herro.
The effort from Memphis was both horrifying and baffling. Social media erupted with fans expressing their frustration over the humiliating loss.
“It’s so hard to be a Grizzlies fan,” @dogleguitar lamented on X.
“Y’all owe everyone in the Forum a refund,” @austin_welch18 commented.
“They don’t have any defense {laughing emoji},” @AUSTINHONEY88 remarked.
“The time where the Grizzlies had a huge defense with {Jaren Jackson Jr.} as a DPOY seems like a long time ago,” noted @Footballjogfv.
Memphis started strong with a 4-0 lead, but quickly fell behind, ending the first quarter in a 19-point deficit. Ja Morant, who had been questionable due to ankle soreness, struggled immensely, scoring just 12 points on 4-of-16 shooting. Jaren Jackson Jr. managed only three rebounds, as Miami dominated the boards 57-41.
Despite both teams committing 20 turnovers, it was the Heat who were in full control throughout the game. Bam Adebayo led all scorers with 24 points, while Kel’el Ware added 19 points and nine rebounds. Off the bench, Nikola Jovic and Jaime Jaquez Jr. combined for an impressive 37 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 assists.
The Heat’s shooting was on fire, hitting an incredible 47.5 percent from three-point range. Both Adebayo and Simone Fontecchio knocked down four triples each, helping Miami push their offense to another level.
After dropping their season opener 125-121 to the Orlando Magic, the Heat bounced back emphatically with this dominant performance in Bluff City. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies’ statement was loud—but for all the wrong reasons.
