‘9-1-1: Nashville’ Actor Isabelle Tate Dead At 23
Isabelle Tate, known for her role on ABC’s new series *9-1-1: Nashville*, passed away on Sunday at the age of 23.
Though the *9-1-1* spinoff has only aired three episodes so far, Tate, who was born and raised in Nashville, played Julie in the October 9 pilot episode. A representative from the McCray Agency announced her death on social media, sharing that *9-1-1: Nashville* was the first series the young actor auditioned for—and booked.
“We are deeply saddened and completely heartbroken to share that Isabelle Tate passed away on October 19th. She was 23,” the statement read. “I’ve known Izzy since she was a teenager, and she recently returned to acting. She booked the first series she auditioned for, *9-1-1: Nashville*. She had a wonderful time. I was so lucky to know her, and she will be greatly missed by so many.”
Tate had been open about living with a disease on social media over the years. According to her obituary, she graduated from Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and was an aspiring actor.
“Isabelle loved volunteering her time to all things, particularly animals. Her idea of a fun outing was visiting an animal shelter and doling out lots of love,” the obituary continued. “Isabelle was full of fire, a fighter, never once making excuses for the fact that she might have a disability relative to others. She was also quite musically inclined, often spending hours writing and recording songs with friends and even publishing a few. What she loved the most, though, was spending time with family and friends, always the life of the party.”
Following news of Tate’s death, her *9-1-1: Nashville* co-star Hunter McVey shared a heartfelt statement with *People* magazine.
“I was shocked to hear the news. I didn’t know Isabelle prior to filming, but I couldn’t have asked for someone better to work with on one of my first ever days on set,” McVey said. “I was terrified, nervous, and after each take, we would get to exchange a couple words which were always supportive from her. I got the pleasure of talking with her after the scene, and she had such a great energy. You could tell she brought joy to a lot of people. I’m thankful I got a chance to work with Isabelle and that a part of her will live on forever in the pilot episode of *9-1-1: Nashville*. Prayers for her family.”
Tate’s legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and, now, through *9-1-1: Nashville*, which will reportedly feature a tribute card for her in Episode 4, airing on October 30.
Her episode of *9-1-1: Nashville* is currently streaming on Hulu.
