Tony Khan Addresses AEW Star’s Status Amid Period of Uncertainty
Tony Khan has recently spoken out about a major star’s status within AEW during a time of uncertainty surrounding their future. The AEW President was full of praise for the individual and expressed optimism about what lies ahead.
Ad Andrade, known in WWE and AEW circles, was signed by the Jacksonville-based promotion from 2021 to 2023. After his AEW run, he returned briefly to WWE, but that stint ended earlier this year. Since then, Andrade has been caught in wrestling limbo due to complications with his contract, which could potentially keep him out of action for an extended period.
During an appearance on the Superstar Crossover podcast by Z100 New York, Tony Khan touched on Andrade’s past with AEW and shared his high regard for the luchador.
“Well, Andrade El Idolo was a great wrestler in AEW, and he left at the end of Worlds End ’23, at the end of 2023,” Khan said. “I gave, actually here in New York, [a] press conference at the scrum, and I said, ‘I think Andrade El Idolo is a great wrestler, he’s leaving AEW on a very high note, and he’s leaving on the best of terms.’ And all of that is true, and I have a ton of respect for him, and I can’t say much more other than to say that I’m very excited to see what happens next with Andrade. I love the guy very much, and I have a lot of respect for him.”
Khan’s comments reaffirm the mutual respect between Andrade and AEW, even as questions remain about when and where the star will compete next.
Khan Also Speaks About Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D.
In addition to Andrade, Tony Khan also commented on another top AEW star, Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. Despite her absence from recent events, Khan emphasized that she remains a vital part of the company.
“What a great star in AEW Dr. Britt Baker has been,” Khan stated. “She is still a fantastic wrestling star. She’s been away from AEW for a while, but still very much with us, and at some point hopefully soon, I’d love to see Britt Baker come back.”
Fans have been eager to see Britt Baker return to AEW programming, and Khan’s remarks reinforce that the door remains open for her comeback.
Looking Ahead
With prominent stars like Andrade and Britt Baker facing uncertain futures, AEW fans are advised to stay tuned as developments unfold. Tony Khan’s positive remarks offer hope that these performers may return or remain connected to the promotion in meaningful ways.
