Report: Kyler Murray is expected to return Week 9, at Dallas
The Arizona Cardinals had expected to have clarity by Sunday regarding whether quarterback Kyler Murray would play, given his recent foot sprain. That decision has apparently been made. According to reports, Murray is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers.
Murray previously missed the Week 6 loss to the Indianapolis Colts. With the Cardinals having a bye week next week, Murray is currently anticipated to return to action when the team visits the Dallas Cowboys on Monday, November 3.
Murray, the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft, is now in his seventh NFL season. Looking ahead, it’s fair to wonder whether the Cardinals will consider making a change at the quarterback position after the 2025 campaign. It’s also reasonable to question whether Murray himself might want to move on.
During Murray’s tenure with the Cardinals, the team has only made the playoffs once—in 2021—when they lost to the Los Angeles Rams, 34-11. That appearance remains the Cardinals’ only postseason berth since the 2015 season.
Given this prolonged playoff drought, changes to the roster and team strategy could be on the horizon after the current season—unless the Cardinals manage to turn things around.
