**Power Failure at JP Hospital Disrupts Dialysis and Surgeries**

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A power supply failure lasting about an hour on Saturday caused significant disruption at JP Hospital, affecting eight dialysis sessions and two surgeries. The outage occurred despite the presence of a backup generator, which was reportedly running low on diesel.

According to insiders, the power disruption forced the discontinuation of dialysis sessions and halted two surgeries, even after patients had been administered anesthesia. This incident raised serious concerns since JP Hospital houses critical care units, including the SNCU (paediatric), ICU, and patients on ventilators.

In response to the situation, a show-cause notice has been issued to the hospital management, and a probe committee has been constituted to investigate the incident further.

The hospital administration assured that no patients were harmed during the blackout. They cited the availability of a secondary generator that remained operational throughout the disruption. CMHO-cum-Civil Surgeon Dr. Manish Sharma stated, “There was a power supply disruption and the generator had insufficient diesel. Show-cause notice has been issued, but no patient was affected as another generator was in operation, so patients are safe.”
