Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Parwalia Sadak police arrested six men on Tuesday in connection with the seizure of a car loaded with beef in the Parvalia Road area on Monday morning.
The arrests follow a tip-off received by Bajrang Dal workers, who intercepted the vehicle on Monday. However, the driver managed to flee the scene before police arrived.
According to police officials, the accused have been identified as Shahid Noor Mansoori (31) from Shahjahanabad, Danish Qureshi (22) of Jehangirabad, Kashif alias Sameeruddin (35) from the Kotwali area, Ahad Noor (33) of Jinsi Bank Colony, Farhanuddin (23) from Afzal Colony, and Mubeen Ali (20) of Sehore.
The seized vehicle contained a cow’s head, legs, hide, and over one quintal of meat. Investigation revealed that the car was allegedly used to transport beef for illegal trade.
Through technical surveillance and analysis of CCTV footage, police traced the accused to various locations across Bhopal and Sehore and effected their arrests.
Authorities have stated that the accused are being questioned further to establish the source and destination of the consignment and to identify other individuals involved in the illegal trade racket.
