14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi shared a heartwarming and playful moment with Rajasthan Royals batting coach Vikram Rathour during a recent video call over fitness. The short video of their exchange, which was shared by the Royals on their official X handle, has since gone viral.
The call took place while Vaibhav was in Australia with the India U19 squad, preparing for the second Youth Test against Australia U19 at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay. During the conversation, Rathour teased the young prodigy about his fitness. After a brief chat inquiring about how he was doing and whether he was keeping up with his training routine, Rathour grinned and said, “Wo toh dekhne mein pata chalega. Aaja tu” (“We’ll only know when I see you. You come back first.”).
The friendly exchange brought smiles all around, with Suryavanshi replying quietly but confidently, “Yes,” as he accepted his coach’s playful challenge. Before signing off, he also greeted another member of the Royals’ coaching staff, adding to the warm atmosphere of the interaction.
### Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Rise as a Cricketer
Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s rise in cricket has been nothing short of meteoric. He made history by becoming the youngest player ever to debut in the Ranji Trophy, representing Uttar Pradesh at just 12 years and 284 days old. His extraordinary talent was further recognized when Rajasthan Royals secured him during the IPL 2025 auction at only 13 years of age.
Since then, Suryavanshi has announced himself on the big stage in spectacular fashion. He recorded a blazing 38-ball century—the second-fastest in IPL history and the quickest ever by an Indian batsman. His remarkable form continued in the opening Youth Test against Australia U19, where he scored a sensational 113 runs off just 86 balls. Reaching his century in only 78 deliveries, his innings included nine fours and eight sixes, helping India post a commanding total of 428 and secure an innings-and-58-run victory.
As attention now shifts to the second Youth Test in Mackay, cricket fans and experts alike eagerly await to see how Vaibhav Suryavanshi builds on his stellar beginning and continues his promising cricketing journey.
