**NGMA Mumbai Inaugurates Rare Exhibition ‘Me and My Gandhiji’ to Mark Gandhi Jayanti**
*Mumbai:* The National Gallery of Modern Art (NGMA) inaugurated an exhibition of rare and historic memorabilia associated with Mahatma Gandhi on October 1, in commemoration of Gandhi Jayanti. The exhibition, titled **‘Me and My Gandhiji – The Man, The Mahatma, The Memory’**, will be open to the public from October 3 to 15.
### Private Collection on Display
The exhibits are drawn from the esteemed art connoisseur Kishore Jhunjhunwala’s private collection. Showcasing an impressive array of artifacts, the exhibition features stamps, coins, letters, photographs, footprints, relics, voice recordings, and other items closely connected to Gandhi’s life and enduring legacy. This event is presented in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, Government of India.

The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of several dignitaries including Mangal Prabhat Lodha, Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; renowned actor Renuka Shahane; Kishore Jhunjhunwala; Nidhi Choudhari, Director of NGMA Mumbai; television producer Siddharth Kak; and the consuls general of Bangladesh, Poland, Argentina, and South Africa.
### Focusing on the Human Side of Gandhi
Nidhi Choudhari shared insights about the exhibition’s core objective—to portray not just Gandhi the iconic leader, but also the human being behind the monumental figure. “We are placing special emphasis on outreach, especially to children and young people, so they can engage meaningfully with Gandhian values,” she stated.
