The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi received a bomb threat email on Sunday morning, prompting an immediate investigation by the police. According to an airport official, the threat was non-specific, and airport operations continued as usual without any disruption.
On the same day, two schools in Delhi—the CRPF Public School in Dwarka and a Sarvodaya Vidyalaya near Qutub Minar—also received similar bomb threat emails. Authorities later confirmed these threats to be hoaxes.
**No Suspicious Items Found at Schools**
A Delhi Fire Services official confirmed the receipt of bomb threat emails at both schools. In response, police teams, fire personnel, and bomb disposal squads were quickly deployed to conduct thorough search operations. Despite these efforts, no suspicious items were found at either location.
**A Series of Hoax Bomb Threats**
These recent threats form part of an ongoing spree of hoax emails targeting various institutions in Delhi and surrounding areas. Notably, on September 13, three Max Multi-speciality Hospitals located in Dwarka, Shalimar Bagh, and Saket received similar bomb threat emails. That same day, the Hotel Taj Palace in Chanakyapuri was also targeted with a hoax threat, leading to heightened security measures and detailed bomb disposal checks.
**Similar Threat at Jammu Airport**
The bomb threat at IGI airport coincided with a similar email received by a private airliner at Jammu airport. In response, a full anti-sabotage drill was conducted by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and local police. The search yielded no suspicious findings.
An official from the Airport Authority of India confirmed that investigations are currently underway to identify the originators of these bomb threat emails.
Authorities continue to advise the public to remain vigilant but assured that safety protocols are being strictly enforced at all affected locations.
