The much-awaited sequel to the blockbuster Malayalam film *Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra* has been officially announced. Wayfarer Films unveiled the exciting news on Saturday through a special video featuring popular actors Tovino Thomas and Dulquer Salmaan.
In the upcoming installment, Tovino Thomas will reprise his role as Michael, a goblin or “chathan” known for his mischievous antics. Fans can look forward to more of Michael’s playful and intriguing character in this new chapter.
### First Promo and Teaser Details
The announcement video, lasting 2 minutes and 55 seconds, opens with an entertaining meeting between Thomas’s Michael and Salmaan’s character, Charlie, at a safehouse. The two engage in a humorous conversation about their drinking habits, with Michael revealing that chathans like him are notorious for their love of alcohol.
The teaser also hints at the return of Michael’s brother, who has been “released” and exhibits a violent nature, setting up an intriguing conflict for the sequel.
### Sequel to the Highest-Grossing Malayalam Film
*Lokah Chapter 1: Chandra* was a massive success and currently stands as the highest-grossing Malayalam film. The original film starred Kalyani Priyadarshan as Neeli/Chandra, alongside Naslen and Sandy, who played Sunny and Nachiyappa, respectively.
The sequel promises to continue the story exactly where the first film left off, delving deeper into the mystical world and character arcs. However, an official release date for *Lokah Chapter 2* has yet to be announced.
### Expanding Characters and Franchise Insights
In the first chapter, Tovino Thomas portrayed Michael, a trickster god and chathan. The upcoming sequel will see Thomas essaying multiple roles, adding further depth to the storyline.
The original film also featured memorable cameo appearances by Dulquer Salmaan, Anna Ben, Ahaana Krishna, Soubin Shahir, Vijay Menon, Sunny Wayne, and Balu Varghese. Directed by Dominic Arun and produced by Dulquer Salmaan under his banner Wayfarer Films, the franchise continues to captivate audiences with its unique blend of mythology and contemporary storytelling.
