Moonilal hits ‘alarmist’ Rowley: Paria not for sale

Energy Minister Dr Roodal Moonilal has fired back at former Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, accusing him of generating propaganda and creating mischief as a strategy to announce his re-entry into the political arena. Moonilal claimed Rowley is positioning himself as a counter to a “very weak” opposition leader, Pennelope Beckles. Moonilal also made it clear there has never been any discussion regarding the sale of Paria Fuel Trading or its assets. “We have always spoken about reopening the refinery, and therefore that matter does not arise,” he said in a series of WhatsApp messages on November 18. “In 2019 the PNM government had put out an RFP (request for proposal) for the sale of Paria and then went sheepishly and embarrassingly and pulled it back.” Moonilal said, reflecting on Paria’s issues in 2019. A March 2019 Sunday Express article quoted then Paria chairman Wilfred Espinet, saying the company’s business, importing fuel for the domestic and regional market, was not profitable and would need to be divested. Former energy minister Franklin Khan on the matter said any request for proposal for the sale of Paria Fuel Trading was “inadvertently issued” and would be withdrawn. Khan added, “I wish to make it clear the divestment of Paria Fuel Trading Company is not in the current mandate given by the government to Trinidad Petroleum Holdings Ltd (Paria’s parent company).” Moonilal described Rowley’s comments as “most irresponsible and alarmist, calculated to create panic among the citizenry.” He criticised Rowley’s suggestion energy installations could be at risk given US initiatives in the Caribbean. Moonilal said multinationals already have detailed contingency plans. “If we took Rowley seriously, everybody would go and stock up on toilet paper, face towels, and water.” He reiterated and stressed multinational corporations overseeing offshore installations are accustomed to “such tensions” and have well-established protocols in place. “The scaremongering of Rowley, in particular, is unfortunate given his sorry track record with respect to the energy sector.” Moonilal discussed the Rowley-led government’s record, saying under former energy minister Stuart Young, 13 energy plants were closed, resulting in the lowest oil and gas production in a generation. “His report card on energy includes the ill-advised and unjust closure of Petrotrin, the NiQuan debacle, and many other failures,” Moonilal said. In June 2023 Allanlane Ramkissoon died in a fire and explosion at NiQuan, which revealed multiple safety lapses, including poor training, missing emergency protocols, malfunctioning alarms, and slow emergency response. Reports noted Ramkissoon was not using a safety harness, the fire alarm did not trigger, and the night shift had never conducted emergency drills. Transparency around an earlier April 2021 explosion investigation was also lacking. NiQuan faced serious financial difficulties, including a court-ordered payment of $21 million to former vice president David Small for breach of agreement. By 2024, NiQuan had terminated 75 employees and mothballed the GTL plant due to lack of operating funds. He added Rowley and Young presided over the closure of Train One at the Atlantic LNG facility, the Yara plants, methanol plants, and other major downstream energy plants. Moonilal further accused Rowley of undermining national security, saying Rowley returned helicopters purchased under the People’s Partnership. “They presided over the collapse of the Coast Guard fleet and refused to establish any broader border-protection agency. They refused to establish any agency to protect our borders, and he has no legitimate or justifiable reason for doing so.” Moonilal accused Rowley of spending his time in office playing golf and now engaging in “feeble interactions” with the national community. “They ought not to be speaking in this way, creating mischief and propaganda, and seeking to undermine confidence in the energy sector,” Moonilal concluded. EXCLUSIVE: CBFC passes 120 Bahadur with ZERO cuts; makers of Farhan Akhtar-starrer go for strategic, limited release

The Farhan Akhtar-starrer 120 Bahadur is all set to be released this Friday, November 21, and it has impressed the audience with its subject and authenticity, as evident from the trailer. In a unique move, the paid previews of the film were held across the country on Tuesday, November 18. The norm is to organize previews on Thursday, a day before release. And now, Bollywood Hungama makers have learned that the distributors, AA Films, have decided on an interesting strategy for the war drama. A trade source told Bollywood Hungama, “The makers, Excel Entertainment, and the distributors, AA Films, have decided to provide a limited release to the film. The idea is to release the film in cinemas which is highly frequented by its target audience, that is, the elite and the ones who are interested in such high-quality films. In mass-dominated single-screens and multiplexes and in B and C centres, the distributors will either skip the release or ask them to go for limited showcasing.”The trade source continued, “They have decided to release the film in around 900-1000 screens. The strategy will work well with the film and if there’s demand, the shows can be increased over the weekend or on the weekdays.”The trade source informed, “Mastiii 4 also releases this Friday and it’s meant for the masses. Hence, there will be no clash over show-sharing for these two films as they are targeting different sets of audiences. The makers of the sex comedy plan to go wide in mass centres and in the hinterland.”No cuts for 120 BahadurMeanwhile, 120 Bahadur has been passed with no cuts by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). There was concern among moviegoers after the trailer of the film, which was played in cinemas, replaced the dialogue ‘Ahir hai hum’ with ‘Fauji hai hum’. This led to many netizens assuming that the said cut would also be enforced in the film. As a result, CBFC was trolled for it. But the final version of the film doesn’t have the aforementioned modification. Moreover, despite being a war film, the Examining Committee of the CBFC did not ask for any visual cuts as well, as the action scenes are not too gory or disturbing. Accordingly, the film was given a U/A 13+ certificate on November 6. The length of 120 Bahadur, as mentioned on the censor certificate, is 137 minutes. In other words, the film is 2 hours and 17 minutes long. Also Read: Gen Upendra Dwivedi praises 120 Bahadur at special Delhi screening on the eve of the 63rd Rezang La anniversary.

Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP)’s $100M Infrastructure Sets a New Benchmark as ADA Struggles at $0.545 & TAO Swings Near $398

The post Zero Knowledge Proof bearish sentiment deepen as charts signal weakness, while the Bittensor (TAO) market direction keeps flipping between short pullbacks and hopeful long-term signals. These constant shifts have pushed many to look for the crypto with the most potential that does not rely on waiting for promised upgrades. Meanwhile, Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) has now entered that discussion by showing what a fully prepared launch looks like. The team put over $100 million into building their systems before opening any presale access. Their $17 million in Proof Pods and $20 million in live infrastructure show a project built for immediate use. With ADA hovering near $0. 545 and TAO moving between $345 and $398, the contrast is clear. Zero Knowledge Proof Sets a New Standard With $100M Built Before Launch Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) has separated itself by doing something nearly unheard of in this space. Instead of starting with bright promises and long timelines, the creators built every part of the system before letting anyone join. They put more than $100 million of their own funds into the full setup before offering any auctions or access. This gives Zero Knowledge Proof (ZKP) a level of readiness that many are calling the crypto with the most potential. People entering are not waiting for a future roadmap but stepping into a live structure that already works. Part of this setup includes $20 million in operational architecture that is fully running from day one. Alongside this, the team produced $17 million worth of Proof Pods, each priced at $249. This shows a complete four-layer system that functions without relying on outside capital.
