Travis Kelce’s Retirement Odds Rise Before Possible Final Chiefs Home Game
The Kansas City Chiefs announced this week that they will be moving from their legendary home, Arrowhead Stadium in Missouri, to a brand-new domed stadium in the state of Kansas come 2031. This move might mark not only a final goodbye to Arrowhead but also a potential farewell for one of the team’s greatest stars.
Travis Kelce is expected to run out of the tunnel for the Chiefs possibly for the last time on Christmas Day against the Denver Broncos in front of his home fans. Since the end of last year’s Super Bowl loss, there has been rampant talk about Kelce’s possible retirement. However, he entered this season with a renewed sense of redemption following their defeat to the Eagles.
The year 2025 has been a challenging one for the future Hall of Famer. Kelce has openly expressed doubts about finding solutions to both his own struggles and the Chiefs’ ongoing problems. On prediction site Polymarket, the odds of his retirement have surged over the past few days ahead of what could be his Christmas swan song. Currently, there is a 67% chance that he will hang up his cleats at the end of the season.

Kelce, who has become synonymous with Kansas City over his decade-plus career, owns a home in the area and was recently named to his 11th Pro Bowl—the second-most of any tight end in NFL history. Although team results have been disappointing, Kelce has maintained impressive consistency, ranking seventh in receptions and third in receiving yards among tight ends.
Unfortunately, matters worsened two weeks ago when the Chiefs were officially eliminated from postseason contention. To make matters worse, Kelce’s close friend and quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, suffered a torn ACL, ruling him out for the remainder of 2025 and possibly into the 2026 season.
As the Chiefs prepare to say goodbye to Arrowhead Stadium and possibly to one of their greatest players, fans are left wondering what the future holds for the franchise and for Travis Kelce’s legendary career.
