Paytm has unveiled the AI Soundbox, a new device aimed at helping small and medium enterprises (SMEs) manage their daily operations and payments more efficiently. The product was launched at the Global Fintech Festival 2025 and represents an upgraded version of Paytm’s popular payment Soundbox series.
The standout feature of this new Soundbox is its conversational AI layer, which allows merchants to interact with the device in 11 Indian languages, making it accessible to a wide range of users across the country.
**Enhanced Features**
The AI assistant built into the Soundbox can answer queries related to payments, sales trends, and overall business performance. According to Paytm, this transforms the device into a “business intelligence assistant” that provides real-time insights without the need for complicated software.
The Android-based device includes dual screens—one dedicated to payment updates and the other for easy interaction with the AI assistant. It supports various payment methods, including dynamic QR codes, tap, and insert card transactions.
**Bringing AI to India’s Small Businesses**
The AI Soundbox is designed to empower India’s vast network of small businesses, ranging from local kirana stores to cafes and retail chains. Its goal is to deliver instant business insights in an easy-to-use format, eliminating the need for complex technology setups.
Vijay Shekhar Sharma, Paytm’s founder and CEO, commented that this launch signifies a new era of intelligent devices tailored specifically for businesses in India.

Equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, the AI Soundbox ensures stable performance in indoor locations such as restaurants and supermarkets. For outdoor or high-traffic areas, 4G support keeps transactions running smoothly, enabling businesses to operate seamlessly in various environments.
