Letter to the Editor
At the January 13th Woodford County Fiscal Court meeting, we witnessed the results of a countywide effort to safeguard our farmland and preserve rural life.
When 70 people showed up for a public meeting, and 574 people signed a petition in just five days, it was clear that this is a matter of broad community concern.
With that in mind, we urged our elected leaders to take notice, focus on the issue, and take action. Fortunately, they did.
The good news is that Amendments II and VII passed as recommended by the Planning Commission, along with a few positive additions. This is a strong step forward in protecting Woodford County’s valuable farmland for future generations.
