Justin Trudeau’s Halloween Costume Is Nod To New Girlfriend Katy Perry
Justin Trudeau is giving a subtle nod to his new partner, Katy Perry, with his Halloween costume this year — and he even got his son involved in the fun. The former Canadian Prime Minister teamed up with his son, Hadrien, for a clever father-son costume.
Justin donned a shark suit, while Hadrien took on the role of a bloodied surfer whose board is missing a chunk from a shark bite. It’s a creative and playful duo that stands out on its own, even before considering the reference to Katy Perry.
The connection becomes clear when you remember Katy’s iconic Super Bowl halftime show performance back in 2015. During her set, a couple of backup dancers wearing similar shark costumes went viral — specifically the “Left Shark,” who became a cultural phenomenon.
Interestingly, Justin didn’t explicitly mention Katy in his post sharing the costume. He simply wrote: “Ready for Halloween with Hadrien: he’s the surfer, I’m the shark (to his left). We built the costume together — a little father-son Halloween teamwork.”
Still, it’s pretty evident that Justin is giving a playful shoutout to Katy. Notice how he specifies being “to his left” — a subtle hint pointing to the memorable Left Shark from her Super Bowl show. This clever costume choice is a fun, lighthearted way to celebrate Halloween while acknowledging his relationship with the pop star.
