Google (GOOGL) tops $4 trillion market capitalization in intraday trading

Another tech giant has joined the exclusive group of companies that have reached a $4 trillion market capitalization this week. Google became the latest to achieve this impressive milestone during trading on January 12, 2026.

Google’s market cap hit the $4 trillion mark earlier today, fueled by positive news surrounding its activities in the rapidly growing artificial intelligence (AI) sector. With this achievement, Google is now the fourth company ever to reach a $4 trillion valuation.

NVIDIA was the first company to cross this threshold in July 2025, driven by its pivotal role in creating the hardware powering many AI initiatives. Microsoft and Apple later followed, reaching the $4 trillion mark as well, although both have since dipped below it at times.

Google’s recent rise is closely tied to its advancements in AI, particularly with the development of its Gemini model designed for various commercial applications.
