Elias Pettersson’s wife Katelyn’s Swedish-inspired chocolate brand sells out within hours of launch during Canucks-Jets game
Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson’s wife, Katelyn Byrd, recently made a sweet debut with her new Swedish-inspired chocolate and candy brand, **Swete**. The brand was showcased for the first time at Rogers Arena on Tuesday night during the Canucks’ 5-3 loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
Katelyn shared several Instagram stories from the game, including photos of fans in the stands holding Swete packages. “Spotted 😭🍬 @swetetreat,” she wrote in one caption. She later reposted another story, noting the strong initial response from fans: “We’re almost sold out in the first period 🫶🥺.”
On the ice, Elias Pettersson recorded two assists despite the team’s loss. Vancouver jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first period, with Pettersson setting up one of the early goals. However, the Jets responded with three unanswered goals, including two before the first intermission.
The game also saw a setback for the Canucks when starting goaltender Thatcher Demko left early due to a lower-body injury. After allowing three goals on eight shots, Demko was replaced by backup goalie Casey DeSmith, who played the remainder of the game.
### Swete’s First Photoshoot at Canucks Arena
Earlier this month, Katelyn Byrd officially announced Swete through a YouTube vlog on her channel. The video shares behind-the-scenes moments from the brand’s very first promotional shoot, which took place inside Rogers Arena, home of the Vancouver Canucks.
“Good morning! I am getting a ride to the first shoot ever for the company by this guy (Pettersson). I’m so excited. My nerves are crazy this morning. I’m feeling a little nauseous, but it’s okay. It’s going to go really well. I’m super excited,” Katelyn said in the vlog.
Footage shows Pettersson driving her to the arena as she prepares for the shoot.
### The Inspiration Behind Swete
Katelyn also shares the inspiration behind Swete in the vlog. “I was traveling all across the world and trying the best candy in Europe,” she explains. “Every time I’d go back to Sweden, we’d have Lördagsgodis. It’s a tradition I fell in love with.”
The vlog also offers previews of Swete’s packaging and branding process, along with scenes from early business meetings. Fans can look forward to trying these Swedish-inspired sweets, especially after such an enthusiastic response during the brand’s arena debut.
